My Go To Restaurant In Plymouth

I feel fortunate because there are two places in my hometown of Plymouth where I can gurantee I will always enjoy a delicious meal.

Allow me to introduce Bow Deli and Salumi. Both are located just outside Plymouth's busy city centre and offer equally delightful food that will make you want to bring all your friends as an excuse to dine there again and again.

I can say this with confidence as a look on my phone will show that I was enjoying their breakfasts with my friends back in 2017 when Bow Deli was called Rocksalt.

And for pork chops only a month later which were so delicious I felt baby Sofia kick in my tummy for the first time ever 😍

Ridiculously large but insanely delicious burgers back during lock down when we had 'eat out to help out'

Plus many, many more delicious meals over the years which I still remember to this day!!

If any of you lovely readers follow me on Instagram you'll see we had a roast dinner there with all the family recently and it was completely faultless!! Everything was perfection! (I might add that I opted for the brisket pie instead of a classic roast and omg it was INSANE!)

And before I dive into the main reason for this blog post I need to give an honourable mention to the Roast Pork & Crackling Sarnie that Bow Deli has on their menu. Its mouthful after mouthful of heaven.

(pictured below along with my husbands chips!)

Our baby boy had a rocky start to his life and spent some time in the NICU. I was understandably heart broken and wouldn't leave his side. The only thing that tore me away from his incubator was to go and get a Pork Sarnie 😂 I was deeply depressed during that time and I swear it actually lifted the clouds away for a while!

(picture below of that exact sarnie!)

These two establishments are managed by the amazing Dave Jenkins, who is the head chef, alongside his wonderful wife Chantel. They have really kindly invited me to their Salumi restaurant to sample their new lunch menu!

I found it really challenging to choose what to order since everything sounded delicious. I was really thankful to have my husband there, as we decided to order several different dishes to sample as much as possible!

In the end we went with 2 small plates - Braised Morrocan Lamb & The Scotch Egg.

The Buffalo Fried Chicken & The BBQ Pork Burnt Ends Pizza

The Scotch Egg I've actually enjoyed many times before and knowing how good it was I just had to order it again today and of course, it did not disappoint, the cider apple sauce compliments it perfectly!

I was reeeeeally excited to try to Moroccan Lamb Flatbread, rich and warmly spiced, perfectly complimented by the whipped feta it was an absolute tastebud treat!

I'm not a big chicken eater but I had seen photos of the Buffalo Fried Chicken and I really wanted to give it a go. It was fiery, juicy and crispy - this was my husband's favourite dish.

And last but by no means least was my favourite dish, the pizza!

I knew it would be delicous but I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed every single mouthful. The pizza sauce base was really rich and delicious and despite being kinda full I made sure I devoured every last mouthful 😋

If you're looking for somewhere delicious and affordable to eat in Plymouth this lunchtime I can highly recommend here.
